I made pancakes this morning after Tim left (he's quiet about waking me up on my days off because he likes to dawdle)....and the Elderberry Syrup that Jess made .... out of this world!
I think I am going to have to send back the jars....with a note for a refill. ;)

Have you ever had the elderberry flower juice from Ikea? It's not as good as homemade (which I got to try in Sweden when visiting my friends), but it's still pretty tasty.
Glad you liked the elderberries. This was my first year trying them after we discovered the bushes near my parent's house. I'll keep you in mind next year when I try pie. It's a shame you don't live closer, I could show you how to prepare them and you could experiment on your own. I avoided pie this year because in my reading I learned that the stems are actually used as one would use Ipicac. Its impossible to get every teenie little stem off the berries and I had visions of people pukeing all over because of my pie. My mom went ahead and chanced it though, and said it was delicious. Now if I could just get the jelly to set, I can stop calling it syrup...
